I’m drawn to abstraction because I find it to be very spiritual. Great artists talk about art being a mirror of your deepest feelings, your personal feelings, and I think that abstract art does that for me.I am inspired by Franz Klein. In his work, there’s a tension between the black and white and also a simplicity to the paintings. But within it, within the framework it’s quite easy to Franz Klein’s personal story and emotions.Abstraction is immediate, spontaneous, provocative. When I paint, my subconscious pulls from my deepest level of unconscious and puts my soul onto the canvas. It’s about exploration, it’s about discovery, it’s about learning about yourself and revealing yourself.
