Hiro Yokose was born in Nagasaki, Japan, 1959 and lives and works in the heart of Manhattan, NY. Yokose combines oil and beeswax to create landscapes that appear simultaneously abstract and realistic. Because of the artist’s unique technique of painting, the surfaces of his work have a sensuous and tactile appearance where depth is both an illusion and a reality.
